Ian is three!

Okay, I've been meaning to post this one for quite a while. I wanted to include pictures, though, and I just don't have a lot of time to deal with those. Today I got about 40 minutes to myself, so figured I should get something "important" accomplished!!

Ian's birthday was August 9, but we had his party on August 8 in Gibson Park in Great Falls. He chose a Cars theme, so he ended up with a lot of Cars things (and Spongebob, too, of course!). We did it later in the afternoon, around 3, with the hope that he would take a nap first. That didn't work out, so his mood was questionable throughout the party (in one picture, he is on the ground with a bike on top of him...he didn't fall, he threw himself on the ground and pulled the bike down!).

He had a great day and lots of people came to help him celebrate! Of course he got very spoiled, with lots of cars (Cars and Matchbox), coloring books, bedding, train sets...he didn't understand "birthday" before, but I think he is a fan now! He especially enjoyed getting cake.

He learned to climb up slides at his party, and this is a new skill that he enjoys using quite often now.

On his actual birthday, we took him to Applebees and had the wait staff sing to him. He got to watch them sing to another person first, and he clapped through that. When they came to our table, though, he scooted into my lap and looked very serious. I think he enjoyed it, though.
