I'll start with the kinda fun/kinda not. Due to changes in our payroll reporting, I went from 38 hours of vacation and 35 hours of sick leave to .156 hours of vacation and .05 hours of sick leave. I got to spend the afternoon looking through paystubs and creating a spreadsheet so I could have my hours back. The spreadsheet was fun, honestly. Friday afternoons at work are the absolute pits, so to be able to waste time doing something different...it was good. Of course the problem was resolved without my spreadsheet, but that is okay. I now I have a running tally of all leave earned and taken since I began working here that I plan to keep updated. Apparently you never know when your leave will vanish.
The more fun thing is that it is POURING rain outside. This has been the wettest summer I've ever had to get through. I am a summer girl...give me 90-100 degree days, and I am a happy person. Living in Montana, we get 9 months of snow/winter. I think we've broken 90 less times than I have fingers on one hand this year. It has just been so cold and wet. BUT back to what was fun: here at work we have a top floor landing (I work on the top). Any time there is crazy weather outside, it is guaranteed that the entire building will be out on that landing watching it. Today was no different...I went to the landing twice (I'm as big of a loser as the rest of them, haha!), and each time I was with no less than 12 people. It's fun, though, and another nice way to break up a Friday afternoon!
