Ian is 3 months and a week. Hazen has been gone 3 months today. It's going quicker than I expected. :)
My little man is a little bit of a disaster these days--I'm starting to feel bad for him, but luckily he doesn't seem to realize he's a mess (he's sitting in his bouncer "talking" to me right now). He's got his torticollis which we've been seeing a physical therapist for for the last month. He goes in twice a week, and he HATES it. He screams his poor little head off. It's not like she's hurting him or anything, he's just very picky and opinionated and the second he's not doing what he wants to, he screams.
He's also battling a pretty nasty case of eczema. It just struck last week, and it is spreading horribly. I called the hospital on Monday and they gave me some advice for handling it. It didn't work, and it's just spreading. Last night his entire back got covered within an hour, and he was crying and I couldn't get him to stop. I oculdn't burp him after feeding him because I didn't want to touch his back. We were about to go to the ER when he finally calmed down and fell asleep. I didn't want to make him sit in the ER all night if he was going to be better at home. I'm waiting for a call back from the base to try and get him in today. I'm not going to have another night like last night--it was miserable. He slept 6 hours, but I still got up every hour to check on him. And his poor little body is so red. It started on one elbow, and now it's from both elbows to his shoulders, all over his legs, his stomach, his back and sides are covered, and it's now moving up to his cheeks and head. Poor baby.
Developmentally he's doing well. He's very vocal. I swear he says "mama" but everyone thinks I'm nuts. :) He loves to stand on my legs. He'll stand and look around with his mouth wide open just talking away. It's very adorable--I'll miss when he can't do that anymore. He can roll onto his sides, but that's as far as he makes it. He likes to get himself onto a side and then start sucking on his hands. He laughs constantly, and he likes the sound of the hair dryer (little weirdo). He's always moving his arms and his legs, like he's trying to get somewhere but can't. He's learning to grasp his toys, and the first thing he tries to do with them is put them in his mouth. He gets bored quickly, so I'm constantly dropping whatever I'm doing to entertain him. I know that's what being a mommy is, but it gets really difficult to get ANYTHING done.
He's been pretty talkative the last few times I've talked to Hazen, so I let the two of them "talk" for a little while. It's really cute. :) I'm missing him a lot more lately, but we're doing okay. Tomorrow will be more than halfway, so it doesn't seem so bad anymore.
Well, Mr. Impatience is starting to fuss, so I guess it's time to end this. I need to dress anyway in case the hospital calls soon. I'll have to update after we get this wonderful skin problem taken care of.
